Meet the team

Beth and Luke lead St Paul’s Carlton together. They moved to Nottingham in 2022 when Beth was ordained, as a curate at Trinity Church Nottingham.

They love helping people discover the joy of life spent with Jesus Christ. They’ve been involved in church revitalisations throughout their ministry, with a deep sense of a move of God in this next generation.

Their other passions are coffee, food and secondhand clothes, so on their day off you’ll either find them out in a café or trawling charity shops for their next bargain.

They have two beautiful daughters and a crazy cockapoo, and are forever trying to tire them all out.

    Anna Clarke

    Clergy

    Anna is a Priest and has served Jesus in a variety of ways across Nottingham since getting ordained in 2020. She’s passionate about seeing people become the best versions of themselves, becoming  everything they were made to be in Jesus. She loves listening to peoples stories over a great meal or a cup of coffee.

    Charlie Palmer-Barnes

    Operations Manager and current Carlton Crown holder 👑.

    Charlie is the team organiser, managing everything from Payroll to Loo Roll. He’s obsessed with all things Lord of the Rings and Bruce Springsteen so feel free to chat to him about this any time.

    Intern

    Ethan is a second year intern, on the leadership track with the Diocese of Southwell and Nottingham. A handyman, both with musical instruments and with carpentry.

    James Gordon

    Ordinand

    James is a final year Ordinand who oversees community outreach here at St Paul’s. Originally from Lancashire, he moved to Nottingham after meeting Naomi at university. James is a proud dad to Judah-Saint, and in his spare time enjoys(?) watching Manchester United & playing padel.

    Jessica Callard

    Intern

    Originally from Brighton, Jess has spent the past three years in Notts, studying English Lit & getting stuck into a local church. Her favourite days involve charity shop bargains and hanging out with friends. She’s passionate about people knowing how loved they are by Jesus and the church being a practical, loving presence.

    Youth Pastor

    Kate is the Youth Pastor here. She’s a peach iced tea lover, and a spicy footy hater. Having become a Christian at 17, she is passionate about young people meeting and deeply knowing God.

    Kids Pastor

    Mercy is the Kids Pastor here. She loves cooking rogue recipes, scrunchies (her current collection is 13!), and having a go at pottery. She’s passionate about kids meeting the Holy Spirit, having fun, growing in Jesus and being free. She has a big heart for families in Carlton to know they’re loved.

    Ordinand

    Naomi is a final year Ordinand here at St Paul’s, passionate about seeing people come to know Jesus, knowing they are loved and living out their full purpose, and seeing the church being an active presence in the community. She loves a bit of karaoke, dancing with her son Judah-Saint and getting out on her SUP!

    Ordinand

    Sam is an ordinand from Scotland (yes, the accent’s real) and leads worship here. He’s fired up about seeing people meet Jesus, discover who they really are in Him, and step into the life they were made for. An avid Irn Bru drinker, and knitwear enjoyer.
